El Paso man killed in fiery crash in Pecos County

PECOS COUNTY, Texas — DPS is reporting one man is dead following a crash in Pecos County.

According to the crash report, Jorge Marin, 45, of El Paso was driving a semi-truck south on FM 1053 around 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 1.

At the same time, another semi was traveling north on the same road.

For unknown reasons, Marin began driving south in the northbound lanes and struck the other semi-truck.

His vehicle then caught fire and burned.

Marin was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver suffered minor injuries. He was treated and released.

At this time no further information is available and the investigation is still ongoing.
