MARTIN COUNTY, Texas — A San Antonio man is dead after colliding with a truck tractor Tuesday afternoon.
According to DPS, the crash occurred at 12:45 p.m. on SH 137, eight miles north of Stanton.
Luis Gerardo Rios, 46, had stopped his truck on the east shoulder of SH 137.
A truck tractor was traveling northbound on the same road behind Rios.
The crash report says Rios reportedly made an unsafe U-turn in front of the truck tractor, causing him to be struck by the other vehicle.
Rios was pronounced dead at the scene. DPS reports he was reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash.
No further information is available and the crash is still under investigation.
