Hunter Alcocer joined the NewsWest 9 team in July 2022 as a Multi-Skilled Journalist.
He graduated from Texas State University in May of 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications, his degree being Electronic Media and Mass Communication, with a minor in Media Studies.
Though originally from Texas, Hunter has also lived in Arizona and Mexico.
Hunter grew up in a law enforcement family. His father is a retired DEA agent and his mother currently works for the FBI.
Hunter has only one sibling, a younger brother, who joined the U.S. Marine Corps. Hunter is very proud of him.
In his free time, Hunter enjoys collecting comics, painting miniatures, creative writing and playing video games.
He is excited to start his career in journalism with NewsWest 9!
