VFW Post 4372 holds their annual Easter Extravaganza

Events like these are just a part of the VFW's way of giving back to the community.

ODESSA, Texas — VFW Post 4372 in Odessa held their Easter Extravaganza Saturday for the community.

The event included an Easter egg hunt for the kids, games, food and even a chance to take pictures with the Easter Bunny.

Kory Grant, senior vice commander of the VFW Post, said the VFW is a place not just for veterans but also for their friends and family.

“As we create these events for the community and for our veterans, we want them to be able to come out, have a nice time, be able to have conversations with other veterans and other people and have a great time and show them that they’re accepted not only by this community but by this post as well,” said Grant.

Events like these are just part of the VFW's way of giving back to the community.

“We are a place where we like to get out there in the community and show people that we’re here for the community. We can’t lead or can’t do anything from inside a building; so, we’re out here in the community,” said Grant.

Grant said they all served their country proudly and that feeling of duty to serve doesn’t just go away once they leave the service.

"I want to mention that putting on events and having community involvement, this is what we're all about," Grant said. "We want to serve the community. That's what we did in the military; we served. So, what we do is still serve."
