DPS: No explosives or other devices located during search of Andrews High School

Midland and Odessa Police Department Bomb Squads searched the school and did not find any devices.

ANDREWS, Texas — Andrews High School students had a big scare Thursday after a bomb threat was made toward the school.

According to the DPS, at about 11 a.m. Thursday morning, the Andrews Police Department received a bomb threat and multiple threats of gun violence directed at the school.

The APD, Andrews Sheriff's Office, Gaines County Sheriff's Office and the Texas DPS responded to the school. The high school was immediately evacuated and the students were picked up at the eastside of the Mustang Bowl Stadium. 

Midland and Odessa Police Department Bomb Squads also responded. Additional police officers and troopers were placed at all Andrews schools as a precautionary measure. 

DPS said at 4:16 p.m. the bomb squads did not find any explosives or other devices were located during the search.

However, the terroristic threats are still under investigation.
