A man in Odessa, arrested by ECSO for 'multiple rapes' in July 2022, gets arrested for sexual assault

ODESSA, Texas — Court documents from Odessa Police obtained by NewsWest 9 reveal that Javier Martinez Arias has been charged with one count of sexual assault in relation to an investigation done by Ector County Sheriff's in July 2022.

Arias was arrested and charged in July 2022 with three counts of aggravated kidnapping and one charge of aggravated sexual assault after several women alleged that he picked them up, took them to the outskirts of Odessa and tried to rape them.

Ector County Sheriff's told OPD on July 20, 2022 that Arias admitted to committing multiple rapes, court documents say.

As of November 22, 2023, Arias has been given a new charge, one count of sexual assault (second degree felony).
