Family business strikes big in West Texas

Janitorial company sees dynamic growth in business because of the oil industry.

MIDLAND, Texas — West Texas is the land of opportunity, just take it from Redlee/SCS.

The company celebrated a ribbon cutting of their new office in Midland Tuesday.

They got their start as just a small father and son operation offering janitorial services in Oklahoma. The pair worked their way up signing contracts with area businesses for janitorial services, eventually striking big in West Texas.

"We joke about how this was supposed to be a business that was to take care of our family. It's We're now close to 250 employees," Chief Strategy Officer for Redlee/SCS Christi Redfearn said.

They credit their success to treating customers like family, saying that attitude in West Texas has paid off big.

"We've seen such dynamic growth in this market. A lot of that due to the oilfield and a lot due to organic growth,” Jeffrey Shea, Chief Operations Officer said.

In nearly 40 years, the company has opened offices across Texas and Oklahoma.
