United Blood Services holds 'Battle of the Badges' blood drive

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - United Blood Services is holding a Battle of the Badges blood drive to help combat blood shortages in the Permian Basin.

The Battle of the Badges is a friendly competition between Midland's police and firefighters to see who can get the most blood donated for local hospitals.

Donors will get to vote for officers or firefighters as their hero. The winning team will receive bragging rights and a trophy.

Those who donate will receive a t-shirt, snacks and hero rewards points.

There will be several opportunities from September 6 through 9 to donate if you want to help.

Blood drives will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Central Fire Station 1500 and from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Midland Police Department. Both of these drives will take place on September 6.

From noon to 6 p.m. on September 7 through 9 there will be blood drives in the Center Court of the Midland Park Mall.
