One dead after rollover crash in Reeves County

REEVES COUNTY, Texas — On May 8, at 6:45 a.m., a crash happened on Interstate 10 in Reeves County, Texas that left one person dead, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. 

A 2002 Ford Explorer, driven by 18-year-old Brandy Martinez of San Marcos, veered onto the shoulder of the curved roadway. According to Texas DPS, the driver overcorrected to the right, causing the vehicle to roll over multiple times.

Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene. 

19-year-old Nathan Zinn, also of San Marcos, was sitting in the front passenger seat and was transported to the University Medical Center of El Paso in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation and further details are not yet available.
