One dead after motorcycle crash in Big Spring

BIG SPRING, Texas — On the March 30, around 11:00 p.m., officers from the Big Spring Police Department and personnel from Big Spring Fire and EMS responded to a motorcycle accident in the 2700 block of S. Hwy 87, according to a Big Spring Police Department press release. 

The rider of the motorcycle, 44-year-old William Starnes, was traveling northbound from the Crossroads bar when he collided with wooden barriers, resulting in serious injuries. The press release stated that Starnes was not wearing a helmet. 

Starnes was then transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. 

A toxicology report has been ordered as part of the investigation and the investigation is ongoing.
