ODESSA, Texas — On Saturday, April 20 at approximately 5:56a.m., the Odessa Police Department responded to a major crash on 42nd St. and Tanglewood.
After investigating, it was revealed that 21-year-old, Carla Mendez of Odessa was the operator of a silver Honda Civic that was traveling westbound in the 1400 block of East 42nd St. for unknown reasons.
The Honda Civic veered off the roadway and struck a power pole.
Mendez was transported to a local hospital and later was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.
There were no reports of any other injuries, and Next of kin were notified.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
