Odessa police: Man arrested after allegedly assaulting girlfriend, threatening her with gun

Odessa police arrested a man after his girlfriend said that he punched her, pushed her against a wall and threatened her with a gun.

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Odessa police arrested a man after his girlfriend said that he punched her, pushed her against a wall and threatened her with a gun.

Officers were called out to the 9900 block of Mccraw Dr. on a report of a domestic disturbance.

Authorities say a 24-year-old woman and her boyfriend, Oscar Aranda, 26, had been fighting when Aranda grabbed the woman's wrists and twisted them.

When she tried to escape Aranda allegedly pulled her left ankle and then punched her in the face.

Police say Aranda was holding her against a wall when she asked if he was going to kill her. He reportedly told her yes and then grabbed a handgun and racked a bullet into the chamber.

The woman says he eventually backed away from her after she begged him not to kill her.

Aranda was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (family violence).
