Midland Police Department arrests 27-year-old for TLCA Burglary

MPD arrested 27-year-old Raiquann Terreek Abner for burglary at TLCA, which is identified as a state jail felony. Abner has been booked into the Midland County jail.

On Thursday, May 9 at 9:30 a.m., the Midland Police Department responded to a call about an alleged burglary that occurred at the Texas Leadership Academy in Midland (TLCA), which is located in the 3300 block of Thomas Avenue.

“Staff at the school reported that when they arrived for work the morning of May 9, 2024, they observed numerous items throughout the school to be disheveled and vandalized,” MPD officers reported. “Staff reviewed security cameras and observed that a male had entered the school overnight. Staff was unsure if the male was still inside the school. MPD Officers subsequently cleared the school finding no one inside.”

MPD and citizens in the community were reportedly working together.

A photograph of the suspect was issued to and featured by Midland Crime Stoppers. Crime stoppers received a tip which identified the suspect as 27-year-old Raiquann Terreek Abner.

“Detectives obtained a photograph of Abner and confirmed him as the suspect in the burglary,” MPD reported. “At approximately 4:21 p.m. the Midland Police Department received a call from a citizen reporting that they had observed a male matching the description of the suspect from the burglary in the 3400 block of Thomason Drive.”

MPD officials responded and located Abner, who was found in possession of property which had been stolen from TLCA.

MPD arrested Abner for burglary at TLCA, which is identified as a state jail felony.

Abner has been booked into the Midland County Jail.
