MIDLAND, Texas — The Midland Fire Department has put out a brush and debris fire in the 3500 block of Bankhead Highway, according to NewsWest 9 on scene.
MFD told NewsWest 9 that they got the call about the fire around 3:30 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, they were able to quickly put it out.
NewsWest 9 was told that the fire was near the grassy area of a local business. No structure appeared to be damaged. MFD told NewsWest 9 that they had extra units out on scene because there were other businesses around and they didn't want the fire to spread to other places.
According to NewsWest 9 on scene, MFD has left the scene and they are still investigating what caused the fire.
