The fire was caused by a large pipeline that ruptured near an electrical substation. The fire is still active but isolated.

The Midland Department is responding to a fire early Tuesday morning.

The fire is near 1357 and 1379 near Midkiff, Texas.

Viewer pictures and video show the fire appears to come from a plant. Some witnesses report hearing an explosion before 8 a.m.

The cause of the fire was from a large pipeline that ruptured near an electrical substation.

The fire is under control and the Midland Fire Department is no longer on scene.

The company who owns the pipeline is unknown at this time but we are told they will be doing an investigation to discover the cause.
