MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - A Goddard Junior High student has been arrested after taking a gun to school.
Midland Crime Stoppers received a tip and reported it to Midland ISD police concerning the student possessing a handgun on campus.
Campus was locked down at 1:45 p.m. for police officials to thoroughly survey the entire school property.
The lockdown was temporary for a duration of approximately 30 minutes.
After police found the suspect and apprehended the firearm, they arrested the student on charges of illegally bringing a gun on weapon-free zoned school, as well possession of a stolen weapon.
No one was injured and Goddard parents were notified about the crime earlier this afternoon.
