A 41-year-old man dies after being in a motorcycle accident late Saturday

MPD responds to a motorcycle accident late on Saturday, where Kevin D. Kelley was in critical condition and later was deceased due to his injuries early Sunday.

MIDLAND, Texas — On Saturday, April 13 at around 11:30 p.m., Midland police responded to a motorcycle accident in the 3300 block of West Front Street.

The Midland Police Department received calls that informed them “that the operator of [the] motorcycle was driving erratically”, and that the motorcycle had “struck a curb and went airborne with the motorcycle landing on the sole occupant.”

MPD reported that bystanders were able to separate the operator from the motorcycle before it caught on fire.

The operator of the motorcycle was identified as 41-year-old Kevin D. Kelley of Midland County. He was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital in critical condition and later was deceased due to his injuries early Sunday.

Next of kin have been notified.

The investigation is currently still ongoing.
