MARTIN COUNTY, Texas — On Friday, May 24 at 7:50 p.m., a fatal crash happened on SH 176, Mile Marker 278 in Martin County, according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The release stated that a 2019 Mercedes C43, driven by 25-year-old Luis Valdez of Andrews was traveling east on SH-176 in the westbound lane at a high speed on the wrong side of the roadway. While, a 2007 Kenworth truck, driven by 39-year-old Aaron Huddleson of Gardendale was traveling west on SH-176 in the westbound lane. Valdez struck Huddleson in the westbound lane at approximately mile marker 278.
Luis Valdez was pronounced deceased at the scene by Judge Nancy Bradshaw of Martin County.
The crash remains under investigation and no further information is available.
