SHEFFIELD, Texas — Relive history May 17-18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fort Lancaster Western Frontier Days.

Live a day in the life of a Texas Frontier surrounded by soldiers, settlers, livestock, camels, stagecoaches and chuck wagons.

The grounds are a way to learn and interpret history, especially first-hand stories told directly from soldiers and pioneers living off the Texas frontier.

Ft. Lancaster, a historic site and commemorative building, protected the road moving west from 1850-1870.

The U.S. Army Fort holds a military installation, trail and Visitor Center with an exhibit and gift shop.
