ECTOR COUNTY, Texas — With it being Teacher Appreciation Week, two teachers in Odessa got some much-deserved recognition Monday morning.
Ector County ISD announced and surprised their Teachers of the Year for 2024: Cavazos Elementary 2nd grade teacher Sylvia Ponce won Elementary Teacher of the Year.
Bonham Middle School Algebra One teacher Samantha Baker won Secondary Teacher of the Year.
Both teachers received $1,000 dollar checks each from the Education Foundation.
