Odessa College nursing graduates ready to start their next chapter at MCH

15 soon-to-be associate degree nursing graduates signed with Medical Center Hospital Tuesday morning.

ODESSA, Texas — Medical Center Hospital has to make way for 15 new nurses.

15 Odessa College nursing graduates officially signed agreements with MCH at a signing ceremony at Odessa College Tuesday morning.

At the special ceremony, the soon-to-be graduates signed an agreement committing to start or continue their nursing careers at MCH. The students will graduate on Friday.

"It's important for people to know about the shortage because they come into our hospitals and they don't understand what we do," MCH Nurse Recruiter Tiffanie Cawley said. "Nursing is very intricate so when people don't understand what we do, they have a higher expectation. So when we get these students in and the public connected, they understand a little bit more."

The students starting their next chapter are Allison Blamey, Yeethir Cherid, Treya Rodriquez, Jazmine Ornelas, Yaritza Maldanado, Baylon (Rubi) Morales, Jesse Ortiz, Danice Anoos, Dannyse Carmona, Crystal Garcia, Nikita Lugo, Diana Cortinas Caro, Priscilla Lopez, Brittany Lucero, Gisela Ramirez, Holden Smith, Abigail Sanchez, and Danielle Leesher.
