HOBBS, New Mexico — 26-year-old Trevor Myrick, the West Odessa homicide suspect who was killed Tuesday, has a criminal past that spans at least until 2016, according to New Mexico jail records.
In 2017, Myrick pled guilty to receiving stolen property and aggravated assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon, according to records.
In 2018, Myrick pled guilty to five counts of burglary of vehicle and two counts of aggravated burglary, armed after entering, according to records.
On April 13, 2024, documents obtained by NewsWest 9 show that a Jal Police Department incident record was filed after officers responded to a stolen vehicle.
According to the incident report with the Lea County Sheriff's Office, an investigator noted the stolen vehicle was later found in Odessa by Ector County deputies. Myrick was identified as the suspect involved with the incident.
