MIDLAND, Texas — On Tuesday, May 21, around 5:43 p.m., Midland Police responded to a shooting incident in the 6700 block of Rio Bravo, according to a press release from the City of Midland.
The release stated that upon arrival, "officers discovered a male kneeling in the roadway, holding a firearm, while a deceased male lay nearby."
Detectives at the scene reviewed camera footage, which depicted the suspect shooting at a residence and also shooting the victim in the roadway.
The suspect was identified as 34-year-old Samuel Omamogho, and was arrested on-site and later charged with murder.
The victim was reported as 41-year-old John Richard of Midland.
The investigation is ongoing.
