Two capital murder suspects in Midland arrested for homicide that occurred in Lee County

18-year-old Jayden Medearis was arrested on April 22 and 19-year-old Tavion Malique Williams was arrested on April 25.

MIDLAND, Texas — Two capital murder suspects are in custody in Central Texas after the Midland Police Department helped arrest them during the week of April 22, according to a media release from the City of Midland.

On April 18, MPD received word about two suspects involved in a homicide that occurred in Lee County, Texas, which is about 40 miles east of Austin.

An investigation by MPD revealed that the two capital murder suspects, 18-year-old Jayden Dangelo Medearis and 19-year-old Tavion Malique Williams, had addresses in Midland.

On Monday, April 22, MPD identified and arrested Medearis. Medearis was then taken into custody in Lee County.

On April 25 at 10 p.m., the US Marshals informed MPD that Williams intended to turn himself in at the Dollar General store, located at 2300 Fairgrounds Road in Midland. MPD then went to the Dollar General and arrested Williams.

On Friday, Williams was taken into custody in Lee County.
