HOWARD COUNTY, Texas — Bryan Christopher Stokes, who resigned from his Howard College position of chief institutional effectiveness officer on Jan. 12, is facing a charge of indecency with a child sexual contact, jail records show.
According to Howard County jail records, Stokes has been facing the charge since Jan. 4 and was released that same day on a $250,000 bond.
The alleged crime Stokes was arrested for happened back on June 3, 2023.
In a statement from Howard College, it says Stokes submitted his resignation on Jan. 12 and that resignation was accepted by Howard College President, Cheryl Sparks.
Howard College says in the statement that "effective immediately, Mr. Stokes will have no further duties or association with Howard College."
