CARLSBAD, N.M. — The Eddy County Sheriff's Office tells NewsWest 9 that their chief deputy made an arrest Thursday that stemmed from a vehicle homicide on May 5, 2023.
George Robert Cosper of Artesia, NM. was arrested and charged with homicide by motor vehicle and great bodily harm by motor vehicle.
Eddy County SO said in a press release that the crash occurred on US 82 milepost 97 near the intersection with Sandweed Road.
Cosper crashed his white Dodge pickup into a black Ford pickup driven by a man named Ryan Craddock.
Ryan Craddock's wife, Melissa Craddock, was ejected from the truck and was later pronounced deceased.
Ryan Craddock sustained severe injuries from the crash and had to be transported to a hospital by air travel.
According to the release, Eddy County Sheriffs' Traffic Unit and detectives concluded that Cosper was driving recklessly in the May 5 crash.
