ODESSA, Texas — A 20-year-old woman was arrested for sexual assault of a child after officers found out she was in a relationship with a 13-year-old boy, according to the Odessa Police Department.
According to an arrest affidavit from OPD, on Thursday, officers were called to a residence on Ann St. in reference to a welfare check.
An anonymous caller said "they had information" that there was a 20-year-old woman having sexual relations with a 13-year-old boy, the affidavit says. The caller also said they were "boyfriend and girlfriend."
OPD officers made contact with the boy when they arrived at the residence. A woman was also found in the home and was later identified as 20-year-old Alyssa Baeza, who was arrested on scene. She said she was in a relationship with the boy.
Baeza said she had sex with the boy in his room on Thursday. She also said she had sex with him on Wednesday night as well.
Baeza originally told police she thought the boy was 18, but later said she knew he was 13, the affidavit says.
In an interview at Harmony Home's Children's Advocacy Center, the boy confirmed that he had sex with Baeza on Thursday.
Baeza was charged with first degree aggravated sexual assault of a child. As of Friday, she is in the Ector County jail on a $50,000 bond.
