ODESSA, Texas — On Monday, Steinway and Sons recognized Odessa College as one of only a few institutions in the United States to earn an "All-Steinway Spirio Institution" shoutout.
Steinway and Sons is a musical instrument company that has multiple "Steinway Showrooms" across Texas.
OC is pushing their students to excellence as the school invests in a new state of the art instrument, a high-resolution piano from Steinway and Sons, for their liberal arts department.
Senior dean of OC Liberal Arts, Pervis Evans, told NewsWest 9 how excited he is for the new opportunities the instrument will bring for students.
"Odessa College is about working in excellence in whatever we do, whether it's athletics, whether it's academics, whether it's the fine arts, and Odessa College is really committed and dedicated with a vision to expand fine arts opportunities for students and music, education and being connected with a partner, like Steinway and Sons just demonstrates that commitment and excellence," said Evans.
Steinway and Sons will be presenting their pianos at the Odessa Marriot Hotel from April 4 to April 7.
