ODESSA, Texas — The City of Odessa said a fire occurred Monday morning at the Volcano restaurant off of E. 42nd St. in Odessa and caused significant water and smoke damage, which resulted in the restaurant's closure.
According to the City of Odessa, Odessa Fire Rescue responded to the 3900 block of E. 42nd St. at Volcano. As OFR arrived, they found "light smoke" coming from the roof.
The fire was located in the kitchen area and an investigation revealed that the fire was caused by an electrical issue.
The City of Odessa said significant water and smoke damage to the restaurant was the result of the fire.
"Prevent electrical fires: avoid overloaded outlets, inspect cords for damage, and turn off appliances when not in use," the City of Odessa said on their Facebook page.
The restaurant said on their Facebook page that they will be closed until further notice.
