SAN ANTONIO — What do you get when you cross one of the most popular cookie brands with churros? A new flavor of cookie you might have to taste to believe.
Oreo on Wednesday revealed that a limited-edition version featuring churro-flavored creme will hit store shelves March 27, bringing to life the dreams of anyone who might've one day hoped for a mash-up of two beloved crunchy sweet treats. While the creamy insides will be churro-flavored, the cookie pieces themselves will taste like fried dough, the company said.
The churro-flavored twist is just the latest innovation for Oreo, which in the past has combined its cookies with the taste of mint, dirt cake, toffee and lemon (just to name a few).
The internet reacted divisively, with one Instagram user commenting "WTF ARE YALL DOING" while another said, "I am SALIVATING JUST AT THE THOUGHT OF THEM!!!!?!" Still another social media user from Texas suggested taking things one step further, commenting: "Please send them to El Paso TX we need to fry them."
