MIDLAND, Texas — Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans received a 50th Commemoration pin on this Good Friday.
The ceremony honored U.S. veterans who served from November 1, 1955 to April 10, 1975.
Leanne Thornton, the organizer of the veterans pinning ceremony, explained why the veterans deserved this honor.
"To honor and respectfully see our veterans and to talk to them, visit with them, let them know that we do love them and that we do. They are welcomed home," said Thornton.
The U.S. Vietnam War 50th Commemoration Pinning Ceremony was established in 2018 and has honored nine million Americans who served during the Vietnam War.
