Top Midland ISD students recognized at 'Shining Stars Breakfast'

The Midland Education Foundation hosted the event that put a spotlight on the top students from Midland High, Legacy High and others.

MIDLAND, Texas — On Monday morning, the Midland Education Foundation shined a light on its top shining stars within Midland ISD honor students.

The foundation held their "Shining Stars Breakfast". At the breakfast, it recognized the top 10 students from Midland High and Legacy High, the valedictorian from Early College High School at Midland College and the top student at Coleman High.

To be top 10, the students worked hard since some of the classes they took in junior high school were difficult. Their goal is to retain the highest GPA possible.

"These students, in addition to being top 10 and highest GPA, they're involved in so many things, giving back to community, volunteering and they're in extra curricular activities and really the best of the best in our high schools," said Jennifer Seybert, principal at Midland High.

The shining stars students will receive a total $57,500 in scholarships. This is all thanks to generous donations from organizations across Midland.
