A startling call to the NewsWest 9 newsroom Wednesday morning.
A man from Alpine, claiming he would kill his wife.
It all lead to a standoff with police.
The call came in to NewsWest 9 around 2 Wednesday morning, when Jose Hernandez told us he would kill his wife.
Hernandez had also apparently called police.
That's when they surrounded his house trying to negotiate.
Hernandez claimed he had a gun, but it turned out he did not.
He surrendered around six Wednesday morning, and sits in a Presidio jail.
His wife was treated for cuts, which she said was a result of him attacking her with a knife.
Police tell us Hernandez could face charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful restraint.
