BIG SPRING - Marvin "Quail" Dobbs has passed away. Originally born in Albany, TX, Quail was a pillar of the rodeo community.

His work as a rodeo clown led to recognition from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, and the Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame, as well as the Coors "Man-In-The-Can" award. He left the rodeo business in 1998, and entered politics.

He became a Howard County Justice of the Peace in 1999, and held the position in Coahoma until 2013, when health reasons caused him to step down. He is survived by his wife, Judy, and his two children Stephanie and Coley.
