A man tried to take a nap on the side of Loop 250 in Midland and woke up as he was being run over on Wednesday morning.
The terrifying accident happened around 1 a.m. on Loop 250 in a vacant lot.
Investigators say Donald Gregory lied down in a patch of weeds to sleep and was woken up as a truck hauling a trailer was running over him.
Gregory says the truck then took off and was seen driving northbound on Loop 250.
Gregory lied in the field for several hours until a passerby noticed him and dialed 911.
He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Officials believe the truck driver may not be aware that he ran over the man but they would still like to talk to him.
The vehicle is described as a blue truck tractor possibly hauling a sand hauler, belly dump style trailer.
