ODESSA, Texas — The Permian Basin Rehab Center is gearing up for their "Great American Steakout."
This year's theme is "Willie Wonka and the Steak Factory."
On Wednesday night, patients worked on paintings that will be auctioned off at the steakout to benefit the rehab center and all the great work they do for the West Texas community.
"Steakout is one of our two big fundraisers and it raises a lot of money to help us provide therapy services," said Kim Ortega, the executive director of PBRC. "Physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and audiology services to our patients who come from all over West Texas who need help to walk and communicate and talk and dress themselves. So that money helps us to provide those services to make sure that they can have the therapy that they need."
The steakout is set to take place on Sept. 26.
