MIDLAND - NewsWest 9 is on the scene of a fatal accident. Two people have been confirmed dead. Witnesses tell us a woman driving a car ran a stop sign off Highway 191. A diesel rig on 1788 hit the car. A woman and infant in that car have been confirmed dead. Traffic is being diverted off Highway 191 coming from Odessa, and 1788 has been closed as well. Crews say they will be on the scene all day cleaning up the mess, so drivers are asked to avoid the area.

DPS Troopers tell us 7,000 gallons of diesel have spilled on to the highway, but the leak is under control.
