MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - One man has been sentenced to 99 years behind bars after being found guilty of murder.

We're told that Johnny Wayne Robertson was sentenced on Wednesday.

Robertson was found not guilty of capital murder but was found guilty of murder after a jury heard testimony on Monday and Tuesday.

The jury returned the verdict after approximately 3 hours of deliberations.

This sentence stems from the 2015 early morning house fire that led to the death of Jennifer Sockey.

During the investigation, officers learned that Robertson lived at the home and there was a history of domestic violence between Robertson and Sockey.

Robertson admitted to police about setting the fire, left the home and knew that Sockey was inside.

We're told Robertson must serve at least 30 years of his sentence before he may be considered for parole.
