EDDY COUNTY, NM (KWES) - New Mexico State Police are investigating an officer involved shooting in Eddy County, New Mexico.
The suspect was shot after a police chase ended around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22.
Officials say the chase started when a man refused to pull over for an officer.
Eddy County Deputies and officers with the Carlsbad Police Department took part in the pursuit.
The chase ended on County Road 41, off of Highway 285.
Officials say officers fired shots and struck the suspect while attempting to arrest him.
A firearm was also located near the suspect.
