ODESSA – One woman is behind bars on charges of theft after attempting to steal jewelry from an Odessa Wal-Mart.
Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, officers responded to the 4200 block of North JBS Parkway on Sunday in reference to a shoplifter.
When officers arrived, Wal-Mart employees told police that they saw a woman conceal jewelry inside of her purse and leave the store without attempting to pay for it.
The woman, later identified as 47-year-old Georgiann Deforge, had three prior convictions for theft of property.
