PRESIDIO – U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations officers made the largest heroin seizure ever on Tuesday morning.
The drugs were found around 10 a.m. when a Mexican male citizen driving a 2005 Renault Megane made entry from Mexico.
We're told the driver and the vehicle were sent for a secondary search where officers found a compartment in the undercarriage.
In the undercarriage compartment was 33 pounds of black-tar heroin.
Officials say this is the largest heroin seizure ever recorded at the crossing.
