PECOS - A death bed confession in Pecos exonerates a man who many suspected of committing a grisly murder.
Last month, a man told authorities he had mutilated 37-year-old Dorothy Johnson when he was a teenager.
While officers were investigating the story, the man died at an Odessa hospital.
But everything he confessed to matched the scene of the crime.
The confession also lifted a dark cloud that had been hanging over the victim's son who many in town believed had killed his mother.
