Changes are coming to the state's mental health system.
On Thursday, the Big Spring State Hospital held a hearing to address some of the outdated policies.
The Texas Mental Health Code hasn't been changed in 25 years.
State officials say patients are being affected by the outdated code.
Mental health professionals, judges, attorneys and law enforcement officers were all invited to give input on the process.
This is one of nine meetings taking place across the state.
