BIG SPRING - Big Spring residents had a chance to get some answers about the swine flu virus and the seasonal flu. Two town hall meetings where held Monday to talk about the flu.

The Texas Department of State Health Services held the first town hall meeting at noon at the Dora Roberts Center.

Officials wanted to inform Big Spring residents on what they can do to avoid the flu and to update them on the distribution of the vaccine across the state.

The main concern from the community was the shortages of the vaccine, health officials say that more people than ever are getting vaccinated.

Doctors are administering the H1N1 vaccine to people who are at higher risk of getting infected first but they are encouraging everyone else to at least get the common flu vaccine.
