MIDLAND - Midland Police are still piecing together a deadly accident that happened early Sunday morning on Loop 250.
The accident happened around 3:20 Sunday morning on the Loop 250 service road just south of Anetta.
Police say a blue 2005 Toyota Rav4 was traveling north on Loop 250 when it veered off the road on the east shoulder and hit a concrete culver. The vehicle flipped and rolled several times before landing on the northbound service road of the Loop. The vehicle came to rest on its top and was on fire. Investigators believe the gas tank was damaged when the vehicle hit the concrete area.
There were three people inside the vehicle. 18-year-old Ariel Corley of Midland died at the scene. 18-year-old Emily Thon was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital. 28-year-old William Robert Hale was also transported to Midland Memorial.
It is unknown who was driving the vehicle. Blood specimens were taken from both Thon and Hale. Hale was arrested on six unrelated warrants.
