MIDLAND - A Midland man who operated a troubled nightclub has been arrested on federal charges.

The DEA Task Force and Midland Police ran two search warrants Thursday morning at two homes on English and Cottonwood in Midland.

30-year-old Jody Thomas was arrested and charged with multiple federal charges including: Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Maintaining a Drug Involved Premises near a School, Money Laundering, Bank Fraud and Aggravated Identity Theft.

Officers seized property related to the investigation and charges including a vehicle.

Midland Police say Thomas operated the Pleasures Club. MPD had a court ordered injunction filed against the after hours club preventing it from operating.

During their 18-month-long investigation, MPD received 135 calls. The majority of those calls were after 2:00 a.m. and involved disturbances, narcotics, alcohol and assaults.

That wasn't the only arrest at Thomas's house.

22-year-old Sean Nixon was handcuffed and taken away, a short time later.

Nixon is related to Jody Thomas.

He's accused in drive-by shooting at a home on Clay Street, just after 12:00 on Thursday afternoon, along with threatening a witness.
