It's another summer day out there in West Texas, and it sure does feel like it with high temps well into the 90s with even a few triple digit readings possible by late this afternoon. Spotty showers and storms will be possible in the mountains and SE New Mexico, but it looks like the Permian Basin will likely stay dry through tonight.
We'll see very similar weather over the next few days. Wednesday through Friday, high temps will be in the upper 90s to low 100s under mostly sunny skies. There are isolated rain chances, mainly in the western half of the area, but a stray shower/storm cannot be ruled out in the Basin. Overall rain coverage: 10%.
The weekend is looking dry and hot with highs near 100. Some models are hinting at some cooler weather and slightly better rain chances by Monday-Tuesday, so stay tuned as we fine-tune this forecast.
