It's another toasty day out there across West Texas as high temps will be in the upper 90s and low 100s through much of the area. We're already seeing some thunderstorms in our mountainous locations, and scattered storms in this area will continue into the afternoon and evening. The western Permian Basin has a chance of a few storms later on today, but overall chances are low for Midland-Odessa.

Heading into the end of the work week and into the weekend, high temps will be near 100 degrees, lows in the mid 70s with only scattered storms possible in the higher terrain. The Permian basin will likely stay dry, Some chances do come heading into next week, High temperatures are expected to decease a bit into the low 90s by Tuesday with 10-20% chances of showers and storms.

Remember to do what you can to stay heat safe as this hot summer rolls on! Drink plenty of water, take breaks away from the sun whenever possible, and wear light, loose fitting clothes!
