Sunshine, seasonal temperatures for Thursday

Temperatures were slightly below normal Wednesday but should be closer to normal on Thursday.

DENVER — FORECAST BY: Ed Greene

TODAY AT A GLANCE: After heavy rains and a high of only 70 degrees on Tuesday, we warmed to 84 on Wednesday with drier conditions.

A big high-pressure ridge that stretched from British Columbia to the north and to the western Gulf of Mexico to the south poured drier air into Colorado yesterday.

We’ll see an even warmer and more seasonal day today with plenty of sunshine and very little in the way of showers or storms. Our high should be close to 88 degrees, which is pretty close to normal for this time of year.

Chances for showers and storms increase somewhat as we head through the weekend with high temperatures remaining a little below seasonal.
