BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK, Texas — A major road repair project for Big Bend National Park is underway as of November 20.

Over the next two months, road crews will be working on improving the park roads.

Repairs will include asphalt resurfacing, drainage improvements, guardrail fixes and more.

Work will be ongoing from sunrise to sunset Mondays through Fridays as well as some Saturdays. The crews will take breaks for Thanksgiving and Christmas to New Years.

The work will be primarily focused on four areas of the park: Chisos Basin Road, Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive and the North and West Entrance Roads.

These repairs are part of the Federal Highways Road Repair Project.
